Chimney sweep logs do not sweep chimneys. They loosen some creosote - which then falls where a brush and vacuum still have to collect it.
Meet the Atlanta Team Behind Ashby Chimney Atlanta
We’re the local Atlanta crew that answers when you call (678) 263-7908. Since 2002, Nathan Corliss has built this team around one idea: the person who shows up at your door should be the same person who can explain exactly what’s happening inside your flue, in plain English, before any money changes hands. We’re sweeps, masons, and repair techs who grew up in and around Atlanta. Buckhead, Decatur, East Point, Sandy Springs, Marietta. We know these houses because we live in them. No call-center dispatch. No rotating cast of subcontractors. The names below are the people who climb your roof.
Styles & brands we work with

Our People
Marcus T. – Lead Technician
Marcus has been with Ashby Chimney Atlanta for eight years, and he’s the one who handles the head-scratchers: odd flue geometry in 1920s bungalows, prefab fireplaces that never drafted right from day one, and the occasional squirrel who tried to call a chimney home. He holds NFPA 211 inspection training and has completed manufacturer certifications through DuraFlex and HeatShield. Before chimneys, Marcus worked residential framing, so when a crown repair needs to tie into existing rooflines cleanly, he sees the structure before he touches the mortar. He’s the person most likely to tell you your chimney is fine and you don’t need work done. That has cost us jobs. Nathan keeps him around anyway.
Elena R. – Senior Installer
Elena runs our stainless liner and repair work, and she’s the reason our HeatShield and DuraFlex installations come out looking like they were planned from the architect’s original drawings. She’s been with the crew for six years and is certified in chimney relining and masonry repair through the Chimney Safety Institute of America’s continuing education track. Outside of work, Elena restores mid-century furniture, which is exactly the kind of patience you want from someone rebuilding a firebox brick by brick. She’s originally from Savannah and still gives Atlanta drivers a hard time about merging, but she knows every 1950s ranch neighborhood in DeKalb County by chimney stack.
Dara W. – Service Coordinator
Dara is the voice on the phone, and she’s been answering live for our Atlanta location for five years. That means no voicemail loop at 2 a.m., no “press 2 for new appointments,” no call-back form that disappears into a spam folder. Dara knows the schedule, the neighborhoods, and enough about chimney anatomy to tell you whether that noise you heard is worth a service call or just a bird on the cap. Before joining Ashby, she ran dispatch for a metro Atlanta HVAC company, so she’s heard every “smoke backing up into the living room” phone call there is. She keeps a notebook of every oddball job we’ve seen, indexed by street name. It’s saved more return visits than any software could.
James P. – Apprentice
James joined us two years ago after finishing a construction trade program in Marietta. He’s working under Marcus and Elena toward his CSIA certification and is already the person we send onto the steepest roof pitches, mostly because he likes it and he’s good at it. James grew up in Athens and moved to Atlanta for the work. He’s the one who labels every tool, cleans the jobsite twice, and will show you the photos from your camera inspection before anyone asks. The “leave it cleaner” part of The Kingswell Way isn’t a policy to him. It’s just how he was raised.
One Standard, Every Job
Every person on this page works the same way, and it’s not charisma. It’s a checklist. The Kingswell Way has five points: say the price before work starts, show up inside the promised window, leave the property cleaner than we found it, put the guarantee in writing on every repair, and come back if something fails. Nathan reinforces it at every Monday meeting and on every jobsite walkthrough. No exceptions for busy season, no exceptions for a tight schedule. Each Ashby location is independently owned and operated under the Kingswell Guarantee, so the crew you meet here in Atlanta is accountable to the standard, not to a corporate office three states away. That matters when it’s your roof, your family, and your fireplace. We don’t just know the guarantees. We’re the ones who have to honor them.
